June 20th marks World Refugee Day, a day designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe while celebrating the strength and courage of those who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. Today we hear from Soomaya Javadi, a freelance writer, human rights advocate, a women’s rights defender and a passionate Hazara woman from Afghanistan; a survivor who has many stories to tell. Today she tells us about the Hazara people, what life was like before and after the Taliban took over, and much more on this touching episode.
