Refugee Rights Day is celebrated each year in Canada on April 4th. It is the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1985 Singh decision, recognizing that refugee claimants have the right to fundamental justice in Canada. We are joined by Helen Smith-McIntyre, Refugee Sponsorship Training Program Trainer and advocate for human rights including refugee, women and Indigenous rights, who tells us more about the importance of this day.
